TAYLOR & SCOTT

VILLA BALBIANO - LAKE COMO

An Intimate Escape at Villa Balbiano

Hidden along the western shore of Lake Como, Villa Balbiano became the setting for Taylor and Scott’s private celebration in Italy.

Far from the structure of a traditional wedding, the day unfolded slowly — quiet moments in the gardens, long walks beside the water, and an atmosphere shaped entirely around presence and connection.

Their elopement felt less like an event and more like a retreat suspended between history, nature, and contemporary elegance.

Villa Balbiano and the Atmosphere of Lake Como

With its ornate interiors, symmetrical gardens, and lakefront views, Villa Balbiano carries a sense of scale that feels both dramatic and deeply personal at the same time.

Throughout the day, the villa shifted constantly in mood and texture: soft reflections on the lake in the afternoon, warm shadows across the stone pathways, and candlelit interiors as evening approached.

Rather than directing every moment, my approach was centered on observation — allowing space for movement, silence, and genuine interaction to shape the imagery naturally.

A More Personal Way to Celebrate

For many couples, choosing an elopement in Italy is about creating an experience that feels intentional and unhurried.

Without timelines built around a large guest list, Taylor and Scott were able to experience Lake Como entirely at their own pace — from a private boat ride across the water to portraits captured as the light disappeared behind the mountains.

The result was a celebration that felt immersive, cinematic, and completely their own.

Lake Como Elopement Photographer

Some places invite spectacle. Others invite intimacy.

Villa Balbiano offered both — combining the grandeur of historic Italian architecture with the quiet atmosphere of a private lakeside escape.
